tech q for 1.6 initiale in limp mode

  Trophy #267
m8 i work with owns a 2002 1.6 16v initiale which has recently gone into limp mode. he knows sum1 who has access to a code reader which has sortof helped but is still throwing up intermittant error which he asked me to consult you lot with for guidance.

initially he was getting a circuit1voltage error which he has found was a coil on cir1 and has replaced and cured.
he is getting intermittant map sensor, brake sensor warning + speed sensor faults also.
The chap who borrowed the reader thought the map sensor was 'loose' and has since tie wrapped it to the loom and seems to have stopped the map fault (for now)
the only thing showing since this is the brake sensor warning ?
my m8 says since the map sensor has been secured it runs significantly better but still feels as tho its being 'held back'

any advice as to what map sensor issue may be (either sensor, loom or gromit which hold sensor) and what the brake sensor may be ?

The terminals in the block plugs of the wiring loom going into the MAP sensor used to work loose, crap design of plug, they just push in and out.

From what you've described I'd also tighten the terminals in the brake switch, and clean the TDC sensor.
