Tein - Anyone got any experience with them?

Car  BMW M4; S1000 RR
I've been offered some Mono Flex for my MX5 at a pretty reasonable price, anyone heard any horror stories about them?

It's a monotube system so better than most aftermarket kits out there, and it's marketed as an entry level competition system. £1500 retail, offered at £950 brand new.

Tein is usually the choice for jap cars.n its the H&R for jap cars. Usually pretty much the best main stream stuff you get. I have heard alot about it alot of people run them on 350z's and 200sx's but i personally have had no experiance with them.

Hellsbells' EP3 CTR is running Tein Suspendion IIRC but she doesn't come on here much anymore

TEIN's are a good setup. Mono Flex system is fully adjustable too, IIRC?

EG/EK chaps swear by them!

Price you've been offered is good IMO. Usually they sell 2nd hand for about 600-700ish.

Don't think you'd be disappointed with em tbh!

Only 1 way mate, I was expecting them to be 2 way but it's only for a road car afterall.

I might have to get EDFC if I get them. 'Leccy adjustable shocks FTW.

LOL

You can add EFDC at a later date, if you can't justify it straight away.

On-the-fly damping adjustment FTW though!

I've heard good things about them from everywhere apart from Nitron and mx5nutz. But then mx5nuts members all bum the Performance5 suspension in hope to get discount I guess...

Guy at Nitron says they're poorly made but then he thinks everything's poorly made compared to his stuff (which in fairness it is, but I don't have 5 grand to spunk on a custom setup from him).

LOL... pretty much yeah. Any brand are poorly constructed, compared to Nitron.

I'd go for them. Sounds like a good deal.

Picking them up next week:)

Didn't realise that whilst only 1 way damping adjustment, you can adjust the preload too. I can just see in 2 weeks time after tuning it for oversteer city I total the car on a roundabout..

Fingers crossed!!

Got to get booked in for a drift day at Oulton now to shave the last few mm of tyre tread I have on before I get new wheels/tyres.

I hope so.

TBH They can't be bad for £1400 and whlist I love forums for their ability to connect people with similar stories and interests, I'm also VERY sceptical when taking advice on things like handling, mainly because most people don't know what they actually want when talking about a car's handling.

Just need some good tyres to exploit them now. New wheels are needed though as one of my BBS' is f**ked and needs some TLC. But I'll just sell them once they're tarted up I think.

On the list at the moment;

Tein Mono Flex
Rota GT3 15x7 with Pilot Exaltos and spacers to fill the arches a bit more.
Then a geo setup at Nitron:D

Edit: Add to that Powerflex bushes which I hear are a biatch of a job, but probably need doing.

good mate of mine has TEINs on his glanza. They are really really impressive. Great quality stuff imo. He's had absolutely no problems.

Got them fitted now:)

Haven't had a proper drive in the car, settings are 8 on the front and 9 on the rear or the other way round, either way it's going to be a bit hard on the rear compared to the front I'd imagine which means oversteer:o

It's sat fairly low, about right imo and I haven't had to change anything since I lowered it off the ramps (other than get some bits of wood to get it off the ramp lol..

Pics to follow.
