Telf oil??

Went to my local back yard garage to see how much an oil change would be, told him I wanted Silkoline pro s 5w-40 (recommended on other posts) and asked if he could beat Opie Oils price of £36 for 5L. He had a ring round with no joy so offered me 'Telf' he said its made by Elf and its fully synthetic 5w-40 but is only available to trade = Telf..

£50 for 10L, oil filter and labour.

Has anyone heard of this?

Think I'll take him up on the offer anyway as in 5k It's having its 12k service so I'll put the good stuff in then.

^^^^ I haven't heard of telf either . You sure you heard him right ? Looked on google for telf oil and found fcuk all .Either that or he's pulling your plonker .

Did he say " i've gotelf oil " , lol

No he defo said Telf, he said the 'T' was for Trade.. Think he's going to put s**t in it! I'll ask to see the bottle before he puts it in..

No probs . I used to use comma synergy Z 5w -40 fully synthetic in my 172 , was about £28 for 5litres from my local motor factors .

I think it will be fine as long as its 5w-40, I've known him for ages.. All my cars have been to him. Just now I have the 182 I want to be careful. It'll get its 12k in about 2 months so its not staying in long. I just want to get it changed because it sounds like s**t and is lumpy, its 12 months old and I'm doing a s**t load more miles!
