temp sensor in wing mirror

hello all,

should there be a temp sensor in both wing mirrors? mine only has one in the passenger side mirror and on the drivers side one there just seems to be a hole...possibly suggesting there should be another sensor??

Mine has the hole for one as well, but the sensor is only in the passenger side.
