Temperature Dash

I have an 04 extreme 3 and i have the clock showing fine, but no temperature read out, am i meant to??

my mums Extreme 4 doesnt have a temp display eather, im assuming its another cost saving thing on the extreme same with no electric mirrors or rear speakers etc
