Temperature gauge in my 182 is faulty!

Hi. I just wondered quickly why my temperature gauge in my car is way out on the display in the centre console.
For eg.... This morning I know it's about 3c outside from looking on my phone but my display is saying -5.
Is it a simple fix?

maybe its just cold?

it does live under the mirror outside after all.

buy a new sensor, they arent cheap for what they are. OR search the forum, remember years ago someone posted what thermistor you can buy at maplins for 35p and then solder it in.
