My temperature gauge on my 172 has been displaying 44 degrees for some time now, I was wondering if anyone knew how to change it? Or do you think It would need replacing..
Just replaced mine, its an easy job and parts cost about £17 ON EBAY.
Just unclip the mirror on teh N/S/F by sliding it upwards and then remove the rear mirror cowl (the colour coded bit) and unclip the old temp sender (a little black nobbule) and cut the two black wires and recoonect the new sender unit with a couple of connectors or solder.
They are not -/+ so you cant go wrong.
Took me about 8 mins to do and is fine now
Any problems let me know and I will give more detail
