temperature gauge

I currently have a 1994 phase 2 renault clio 1.8 16v. Inside the car the temperature gauge keeps flashing -30 degrees does anyone know why this is? I spoke to a person who has this car and they say it is because I have taken off the standard wing mirrors and replaced them with M3 mirrors and the temp gauge is in the standard ones is this right? If you know anything about this please pm me as soon as possible or email me at mailto:ianmc2005@aol.com">ianmc2005@aol.com.

Cheers

The external temperature gauge is built into the underside of the passenger mirror on the mk1s aswell

Have you now got manual mirrors or electric M3s now?

probably the temp sensor (on the underside of the passenger mirror) has been disconnected. mine did this and i wiggled some wires and it went ok again, never done it again since!

Ive now got manual M3 mirrors. If I had of known this would happen I would have kept the standard ones!!!! Cheers for the responses. PS I am now selling my mint valver it is under the cars for sale forum on the 2nd page I think. The line reads Black Clio 16v For Sale With Low Mileage.
