That straight is far too long to let Joe Public go on it, bet this isn't the first big crash there.

No warning signs or anything on that bend either.

It's not a circuit, it's a normal A-Road, that just happens to be part of the old Chimay circuit of yesteryear.

Typically your average road doesn't need brake markers, even if the old gravel traps are still there (for what good it didn't do)

Ok, so the RS3 is pretty rapid it's safe to say lol

From the look of it he was completely unaware of the corner, I mean that wasn't 'just missed the braking point' that was 'f*cking about with the stereo while eating a cheesburger' levels of asshattery.

No sighter laps?
I think he probably must have been through there at least once or twice already, and had just forgotten where he was for that moment.

If that's not the case, then he deserved to die, frankly.

Maybe his last car was an MX-5 and he didn't realise it didn't take 10mins to get from one end to the other.

Massive understeer innit.

Seriously though a shunt that big would probably put me off driving for a while tbh.

This.

Chimay circuit is a street circuit which is now dis-used, but instead of remove the circuit equipment they just left it in place and let people get on with things.
No traffic control or anything seems to operate, and looking at the road here it appears to get some use as a drag strip too.

Bet this stuff happens all the time there, it's in the middle of f**king no-where anyway so people must just rock up and thrash their cars round it all the time.

Sounds like the EVO triangle.

Not far removed from HERE, where all the local cool, scene, fast as fuq kids in their charges go to "race".
Or, for that matter, any given industrial estate with a straight.

Mental! I would have had a guess at a death happening but I think the air he got helped.

That's a stupid mental bit of road in fairness!

I do laugh when people make shitey remarks about these types of cars ‘understeering’ everywhere.

On my 31 years on this planet i’ve yet to meet one person thats bought a fast VAG hatch/saloon/estate with the sole intention of it being a ‘race korr’.

These flesh wand swallowers that say “but but they understeer everywhere” usually;

- Cannot afford it, so slandering it seems the avenue most ventured.

- Don’t realise that a 335bhp 5 cylinder hatch doesn’t have the turn in finesse of a Caterham.

- Still breast feeds.

- Top one again

If you can make a car understeer on a road regularly its either on tyres you made yourself or you’re driving like a f**king weapon.

And a quick news flash, people do buy cars not to drive like arseholes everywhere!

I was with you until the last one, that sounds like bullshit to me

Valid point, but even Pirelli's F1 Ultrasofts wouldn't have saved the car from that level of driving skill

Didn't they dig a trench at the end of the road a while back to stop people using it to race?
Can't do that, the road is used for the straw-burning plant and all the other sites on the industrial zone.
But there is a straight piece of private road, and no site security, so it will always be a place to show off quite how sik your stretched Nankangs look on yo's totally-doesn't-understeer VAG (as it goes through through the middle of a roundabout, on full lock)
