The "Ive taken a pic and I kinda like it" thread

Cheers Scrooge, this was the other timelapse from the same clips. I had the programme save after each step when developing the stack.

Went out last night for a few hours looking for some decent milky way shots. One thing I didn't consider was the gale force winds! That out an abrupt end to one spot so ended up at this bridge. Walked through marsh to get a bit closer to the waters edge. Not the best shot, the milky way wasn't visible either so I'll be heading back in the summer I think.

Out tonight as it was clear as anything out there. Not even too bad at 0C with a breeze. Last night and the night before (Aaron..) was horrifying but tonight was fine !

First one panned out as I wanted - just about - as I spotted that site on last weekend's bike ride.. but got bored after ~30 mins. Walked back and got the other two I set up in my mind on the walk to site one..:

I'll go back when it's not quite so chilly and go for take 2 I think !

Nice.
I was going to go out but I feel like s**t. Mate text me saying it was really clear and there's bugger all wind tonight, plus the late moonrise.
Oh well. Next time.

Spotted some dolphins today. Got a few alright shots but this was probably the best.
New. I shouldn't have got rid of my zoom!

Straight from the 6d to my phone, straightened and a bit of editing in Lightroom mobile.

Been out with @Scrooge doing some dogging tonight, and took some pics whilst waiting for everyone else to turn up.

Single shot - 10mm @ infinity / f/7.1 / ISO 1000 / 30s.:

Then did about 45 mins of trail logging but cocked up a bit. Think I should have stayed at f/7.1 or 8 but never mind...
~60x 10mm @ ~infinity / f/11 / ISO 800 / 45s...:

Fekkin' cold out though.

Stick to f4 and higher ISO and you'll get loads more stars. Even on 30 second exposures.

Last minute trip to the beach this evening for some light painting and then the skies started to clear revealing the Milky way. Unfortunately its not the best time of year to view it with the faintest part of the arm showing in the skies of the UK but you can still make it out. Roll on the summer!

Quite happy with them - unfortunately not much I could do with the A127 orange lights (bloody Essex and its orangeyness...) to make the building look any better. Tried flooding it in a couple of frames with torch but it was too cold. Meh.

Taken on my phone so not great quality, but still like it nonetheless. Had an amazing time in nyc, taken from top of empire state building at dusk.

Got tickets to the Sky Garden at 20 Fenchurch Street on Friday. Stunning views, which the camera doesn't really do justice. Could have also done with a better wide angle lens, but hey ho! ;)

Very nice Jay. Any chance of using a tripod up there?

What happens if you are carrying around a tripod when you visit? Do you have to leave it somewhere?

I spent a couple of days in Cambridge. The wife was on a course so jumped in the car with her. Free hotel and some time in a new city. Saves sitting at home on my own.
Only gone through a few shots. Weather wasn't great for photography.

Thanks.
Yes, until last week i've only taken crappy Quality photos with my phone. But I guess that I learned how to make bad photos look half decent in photoshop and lightroom

Some lovely shots there Piers.

I need to get out and do some landscape this week while there's still a bit of snow left in Snowdonia.

Nice Ricardos, I know exactly where that is. I snapped a quick shot on my phone as I didn't have time when I walked past to set up the camera but never went back.. Would make a good long exposure next time I go .

Thanks, just a point and shoot photo but really need a day with someone to get to grips with what the camera can actually do.
