tomS- same as me mate, when first drove one only took it round block cos had no license at time but vowed that one day i wld own one.jus been out in mine now to take my girl home n opened her up a lil bit round roads. kept slowing right down on roundabouts then floorin it away from cars behind me.lol

was taking my lass home last night and was in mine thinkin id be looking forward to this drive if i was in a valver hah hah obvo didnt tell her that!!
I really want one now,cant believe how much car get for the money tho!!they sound like propa little pocket rockets yet the insurance is cheap and so is the price!!!
There not bad,but a little tame after the 172/182s. Only joking
. Ill say tough that a valver and a 106 gti are gonna be pretty even.My mate has a 106GTi all standard and I am still suprised at how quick these things are for a 120bhp motor,its after 60mph though they start to slow.

My bro in law said exactly the same thing Dodson - After I gave him a spin and tested it against his A3 2.0 TDi, he couldnt believe how much of a good car you get for the price. He said "Ive just spent 20 grand and you have a car that is quicker to 60 for under 4 grand!!!!"

That is the whole point tho aint it,stupidly fast yet stupidly cheap,had a A3 try race me just now on way back from college just so guttin wen cant do nowt bout it,and some prick on way home from work last night in some rep mobile,cant wait for them to try it in a couple of weeks ill just do em all over!!
Its all down the the car and the driver i would say. It takes quite a long time to know how to drive a valver properly and keep them on cam, knowing what gear at what speeds to change into. In the year ive owned my valver i would say i pretty much know her inside out. Also when i was chatting to a guy at Renatec he said there is such a range in valvers its un-beleivable. Some are slow, some are quick. Remembering mine is modded ive never been beaten by a VTS or a GTi but they are bloody quick motors! The thing that made me chuft was when i got my new gearbox fitted Renatec said ive driven quite a few clio 16vs but you put your foot down in yours, it gos!
was over at my mates garage other day in my valver n i let his dad drive it(well he did rebuild the engine) n he shot off down the road, came back and said"she is quick hey,runnin nice".bout 10 mins later my mate came back n we went out in it cos could hear a noise n he said same thing but dnt boot it cos i was in car.people dnt understand wot it is like until they drive it. ya can tell people all the facts, it 1.8 16v, does 0-60 in under 8 secs etc but until they drive one they cant put it in2 context how quick it is 4 a small car.

Yeah took her out today!
Had to go to the post office (sound like an old geezer!) lol and that takes me through some brilliant country B-Roads! good opportunity to give the valver a bit of a run out! (safely of course!!)
Enjoy every second driving that car! even when im tootling along listening to some music! still brilliant

ive had my valver since end of june now and i love it 2. so fast 4 wot it is. i totally agree with u. its an m reg with 58k on the clock. only problem with it is the front bumper. the paint is just peelin off of it. needs re doin. but wen its dun itll b bak 2 its best, its a grey 1 as well which i hear r quite rare?!
