yeah but it's okay! He said Mk2 172's, I drive a Mk1... well, Ph1 if we're being anal ;)

Love bashing Mk2 Clio's though, they do suck compared to a decent Mk1 though (as in Valver/Williams) :)

^^^Haha......I like mine better than my old hybrid but only for the colour and the way it looks.

Id take my olden back anyday of the week over a normal run of the mill mk2. ;)
 
Hand on heart , i like my 182 more than the 197 on look's!

Ive only saw a few 182's knocking about , and with the cup pack's i think it lifts it a bit!

I still get peep's trying to see what car it is, so they can't be that common!

So what if it look's like a child's shoe, the 197 look's like a child's correction shoe! :rasp: or a fiesta st!

thankfully there's only 1600ish or so then! This was one of the problems with the Valvers I found, mainly driven by scrotes in my area with dick head spoilers, 17's and Lexarse shites :nono:

Leon, have to say, the 182's in black gold do look well, that and yellow are the colours to have for them imo... but me and black cars is a nono, it would always look brown lol
 
I've just got in and was half expecting the chavs to have kicked off and got this thread locked. Anyway, glad to see there is some serious discussion on this subject. I must say that when I test drove the 197 I parked my 182 next to it, and mine looked like a shoebox with milk bottle tops for wheels :(

Some folks are a little deluded.
The 197 is a better car hands down, build quality, refinement and controversially, style. It looks better than the mk 2's IMO.

Don't know about anyone else but when the Mk2 arrived with its round shape and fat ass, how many people who now own them frowned?

Not me......I just could'nt afford one at the time as i were at college so i made do with a valver/hybrid for a few year.

I like them all tbh, mk1, mk2 and yes the 197 (so long as it be the r27) so i dont know what all the rivalry's about.

They all have there pro's and con's imo.
 
I think the cold truth is that 4 years from now, the Clio III will be the norm on here. Most of the RS owners will have a 197, or whatever it will be called by then, and the 182s will the new valver. Ergo rusty old s**t box :)

Nice fishing thread, but isn't it obvious the Mk2 is dated, that's what happens over time, doesn't take a genius lol. Bit of a daft comment tbh.

Just in case you haven't realised the Mk3 will come to look dated too.

But I've beaten a Ferrari in the twisties in the 172, and it's better than a CTR and FF is better than the Cups and ph1 is ph-ugly etc etc ;)

Seb's 197 threads are funny just to see all the Mk2 owners jump on the wagon! As for the 197 itself, wait for the Cup version I'd say.

Well that's tripe. The 197 has AC as standard and CC on options. The R27 offered the new chairs and Cup chassis.

I have read that the Cup wont even have AC, like the old 172Cup. If this is true then they won't sell any IMO. Well, maybe 3 a year?

i got the cc option they put it on the last 106 cup's to be made . it was a lucky find .

Totally agree

The Mk1 is without a doubt the first step into Clio RS/chav ownership....anyone saying it the Mk2 is talking BS
 
The MK1 is a classic with the Williams still being one of the best hot hatches ever and the MK2 in RS spec is a great car for the money.

Not sure about MK3's although the R27 is a good car.
