The saga continues ph1 engine into ph 2

clio 172 full fat phase 2
Hi all

Two days after having my cambelt done my engine is FUBAR. Aint had it apart yet but the belt is still on and tensioned so something else has given up. No comprression on any cylinder. I had a lecturer from my uni do the cambelt with me so he has no liability. and before you say it, i know i should have gone to a specialist and i have learnt my lesson.

Anyway Luckily a friend crashed his ph1 172 on the motorway and did some fairly serious panel damage to one side. The engine is a good one with plenty of service history with the belts done less than 10,000 ago with all recipets for work.

So my question is, will the ph1 engine go straight into my ph2. I know the throttle is cable not FBW and the gearboxes have different ratios but apart from that is there anything else that needs to be changed. will the unit just fit in connect up and run without any electrical/ecu related changes. Also what would be involved in converting my ph2 to cable throttle as it is far more responsive than the shitty FBW system.

Thanks Tom
