the thing on the front windscreen

hi there evryone i have had a my rs clio for a week tomorrow and i have noticed there is a wierd looking patch on the front windscreen near the dasboard, i cant find anything on here about so can anyone tell me what it is???

na its like a yellowish patch near the botton of the screen the sensor is behind the rear view

Its a for sat nav's , iirc. Its a bit of the windscreen that is not uv coated to allow sat nav's to pick up a signal.
 
The screen is reflective. The patch is for a pass. I hear in france driving on there motorway systems they display a pass so they cameras can scan them and charge the driver for roa usage. Im sure someone will correct me.

The renault manual describes it as an area to stick passes and things, as it's the one area of the windscreen without the UV reflective tinting
 
yeah only if you knew it was uv protected to know that the sat nav dont work in the car and im not from france to know i need some sort of card to display :S
