thermostat?

can anyine help with this one? my 182's temp gauge is fluctuating slightly between halfway & the line before halfway when driving it gets up to temp as normal goes to half for a bit then drops slightly & so on when i take it for a thrash its fine & stays at half could it be the stat? its had a new temp sensor plus it does'nt use water

Sounds like mine, replaced my stat + coolant today, much better and everything was only £31.

IMO the stat should be changed quite a bit more often than it generally is. Certainly should be done at the same time as a coolant change.
