Hey guys im new to to this so just trying to find out a little bit about them first. My mate has a 182 i took for a good thrash the other day and was really impressed with it.Can any one tell me bad points, things to look for if i do end up getting one?His sounds like a diesel on tick over?Got a nissan 200sx at the mo and although its great fun for drifting etc it just costs me to much to run on fuel and stuff. :)

Drive the newest, lowest mileage 172 you can to get a feel for how they should be. Your a bit far, but I have a minter you can drive. It's for sale, but your welcome to just come and have a drive if your ever up this way.

Ok thanks,if i am up round i'll drop you a line.My friends 182 is a 55 plate with 30'000 on the clock, could'nt believe how well it handled :)

They all sound abit rough on idle, more so the 182's than the 172's in my experience.
You after a 172 FF (Xenons, leather, climate etc)
or a 172 Cup (the proper one).

The 172 won't handle as well as a 182. Mines on eibachs, even's things up a bit. There's a buying guide knocking about somewhere here, do a quick search.

The 172 cup has no.

Air-con
ABS
Xenons
Rain sensitive lights, windscreen wipers
6 cd changer
Leather alcantara seats.

And as a result is quite a bit lighter then the FF version.

I too am in your current situation. The Cup gets my vote!

Find a local garage selling a 172 FF / Cup (Depending on what you want) and take it for a test drive (I did this a few months back, means you don't feel presured and you're insured through the garage)
