as the message title says 'this might seem strange',

but i've got a rage twin 3.5 inch back box on my clio dynamique (04 plate) and it is extremely loud, haven't been able to find anyout to date regarding quietening it down (no baffles, even emailed rage, no answer)

i've seen mtorbikes have some kind of wrap that is put around the back box to quieten them down

i was wondering whether this principal would work with a car exhaust, as you think that car and bike exhaust do the same job,

any help on this would be great (preferably replies to this message to be typed, rather than by voice as i am nearly deaf, cheers in advance

cant help you im afraid but i know how you feel, i had one of the rage 3.5" twin backboxes on my old 1.2 8v, everybody still brings it up now when talking about exhausts about how bloody loud it was lol!

you can buy an insert for it but it would cost just as much to replace the back box. the main problem about the 1.2 16v is that it only has one silencer, you could have a middle silencer put in this may give you a more peaceful life

i bought it off ebay and the chap said that it gave a nice tone not too loud, either he was lying, or half deaf by the zorst already

i've been thinking bout gettin new one,

just a matter of interest ive got that zorst and k & n filter and ive got my first MOT coming up, will it be okay with the emissions, cuz i had megane coupe last car and had a peco back box with and induction kit and had all kinds of problems gettin it through mot, i ended up changing the lamba sensor on downpipe and that just scraped through

should be ok, mine had a k&n and the 3.5" exhaust and went through twice with no probs.

quick question why come from the coupe to a 1.2 clio?

aslong as it still has a cat on it you'l be ok with a IK and backbox mate

the engine in my megane was starting to die of death, had 2 engine rebuilds due to valve seals breaking also the paint was glooming badly t-cut wasn't cutting it, i tried anything and also the small matter of buying a house, so i went for the cost effective clio

16v jon, whats this insert your on about

i might give the zorst wrap a go its only 10-15 quid and if it works its saves me from going deaf!!!!
