this was never meant to turn into a project never mind having its own thread. Bought this back in October as my new daliy to replace my old meglio. Always wanted one since they came out and was never in any position to buy a brand spanker so waited for one to come up locally. At the time there were only several for sale and after talking to few lads who have had one/owns one, sounded like a 280 cup would be best for me as I don’t really do many miles and seeing the amount of issues people have had with the trophy batteries, a cup will do me fine.

After testing afew cups and a trophy, this one was my favourite, the other cars were both red, which I’m not a fan of on these. Also this was the only one with heated seats and the only cup with 19” wheels which look way better than the 18”.

Even though large touch screen looks better i wasn’t really a fan of using it for the heater controls.

when I bought the car from the dealership (carshop Nottingham, was shite service) noticed there were I few things that needed sorting out and knocked the price down to under £18k. Sounded like a gasket was blowing which was brought up on the previous mot and not sorted and lack of receipts for its last service but apart from that the car looked great and drove amazing.

Bought a service kit from RPD, new front pipe gasket from Renault and a Powerflex lower torque mount 🫣

Took it down to @Dannyafro for the service….

Found the gasket wasn’t fitted correctly but used the new one anyway as this was blown through!

Powerflex torque mount also fitted! Didn’t make much difference with noise or vibration either and also stopped an annoying knocking everytime I started my car when The oem mount was fitted.

After afew weeks of ownership I started to get a “BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE” warning on the dash every time I started the car. Noticed the brake fluid was low and the cap was slightly loose! topped it up anyway and a few weeks later I had the same warning light. Checked the cap and it had come loose again!! Did a bit of research and it seems the brake reservoir cap is just s**t from factory and people have been fitting Clio 197 caps (also scienic)

Threads on the Clio cap are far more substantial

My Nurburgring trip is only around the corner so I’ve started to prep the car ready for it. Bought the trophy discs for the front, PBS Pro-Track pads and Motul 660 (run this in the Renault 5 and it’s been mint)

Took it down to @Dannyafro for him to swap everything over!

These look loads better and just after afew miles felt better especially with the brake fluid flush and swapped to motul 660. Danny also said the rear pads were trash so he swapped them for some new brembo items. Most importantly topped up the air con 😎

Got to stay cool when you look cool 👀😂 popped down to my mates to have the “megane” badge removed as I think it looks shite!

Today, been down to the local tyre shop to get some fresh PS4s. Only down the road from me but also best price I could find locally at £806 for the set fitted!

took it out for a lengthy drive after and they feel loads better than the Yokohama crap I had on before. Weren’t so sure about how it handled but now I know it was just down to the tires.

I was the same last year. Kept seeing the odd one… sold my meglio and after afew weeks of looking. This popped up and had to buy it. Definitely best looking Renault Sport IMO.

Ring Prep continued…. As most of you would’ve guessed, these don’t come with a spare wheel so thought it’d be a good idea to try atleast find a space saver. Was lucky enough to find a full size wheel that’s the same as the rest as my wheels off eBay. Came through the post within afew days and gave it a good clean as it’ll be going on the back seat (in a wheel cover of course) 19’s are way too big to fit in the boot and I’ll have tools, jack, suitcase’s in there anyway.

Whilst I was giving this a good scrub the postman dropped this off aswell….

Ktec centre resonator delete

£157 delivered to my door from Ktec. Though it was worth the risk so quickly booked it in with @Dannyafro as he said it wouldn’t take long.

Went and picked up my spare after… just had a cheap linglong fitted as it was only ment to get me out the s**t if need be.

On the way there and back I’d thought I’d film a before and after video….

Quick edit and here’s the out come…. Have I ruined a nice, quiet car 🤷🏼‍♂️😂



Was happy with the out come, can become abit of an asbo in RaceMode but apart from That it still sounds the same inside the car.

Was quite slippy last night as it had rained bad in the day but the PS4s did really well and gave loads of confidence.

Last bit before the ring trip, this was supposed to be done at the same time as having the res-delete but I had a knocking on the front which seemed to be one of the drop links which didn’t arrive in time so had to make a trip back to Danny Afro’s garage once they arrived.

Purchased this directly from eibach as Ktec had them in stock but usually their delivery times are horrendous.

New drop links

Made aload of difference and no more knocking. Also took before and after photos for the lowering springs

20mm drop all way round on these eibach which i thinks enough for everyday driving. Will probably get some aftermarket wheels with a smaller offset next year to give it a wider stance. Overall though I’m proper chuffed with it and after a weeks driving the eibachs just feel like the standard cup springs 👌🏼 next update will be after the ring trip.

Just a quick entry before my ring trip. I’ve been wanting a new GoPro for awhile now and after asking afew mates what their newer GoPros have been like I’ve just been told that the older generation GoPros were more reliable. My current GoPro 5 session has been faultless for 6years but I was limited to 4k30 with no stability settings. Decided Togo with the latest DJI Action 4 camera.

Bought some ND lens filters aswell

It’s very small, not much bigger than my hero 5 session but had front and back touch screens which surprised me how clear and comfortable way to use they are. Adjusting the camera settings is a doddle too!! Here’s a quick preview of what I filmed. This has been done in 4K25 with 1/50 shutter speed to give plenty of motion blur.

This is picture heavy so apologies in advance!!

finally!!! The week I’ve been waiting all year for has arrived. Our group consisted of six cars and eleven people, all met up at trowel services off the M1 setting off at 9pm Sunday night planning to arrive in Adenau Monday afternoon. Had a steady drive down to the euro tunnel just incase anything happened.

Past through France and Belgium with no problems and because we made up good time we decided to make a stop at the Micheal schmacher museum in cologne which is free!! Really enjoyed it. So much stuff there to view.

After the Schumacher museum we just had a 90min drive to the ring.

Obligatory Nurburgring photo, after having a nosey round we went to our accommodation which was in kottenborn (5mins from adenau) was a huge eight bedroom house with garage, sauna and large garden.

All of us got unpacked, shower, dressed and drove to Adenau and went to Pinocchio’s for pizza

Had a walk round town after to get our bearings… what I lovely town this is.

Tuesday… started the day with intermittent rain so we decided todo the ring museum and the castle.

View from the top is stunning! The rain got worse so we left and headed to the ringwerk museum

€11.50 to get into RingWerk museum which is a bargain as it’ll take you afew hours to walk round everything

The weather dried up and luckily for us there was TF on the GP circuit so we decided todo that today and do the ring on wensday and Thursday. It was €30 for 15mins which was enough in my eyes as the track is really fast. Glad I did it as it’s an amazing track however I didn’t realise how much heavy braking there is especially after the pit straight.

So happy with the car and definitely could’ve gone a lot faster with better tyres and pads… my pbs pro-tracks were getting really hot on the last few laps.

Wednesday, we went out to the usual breakfast place (cockpit) for their amazing eggs and bacon with a roll.

hilled out alday untill the TF started. Totally forgot how much elevation changes there are on this track, it’s absolutely krackers!! On my first lap I have a very close call and nearly hit a Yaris GR after a Tesla had smashed up on Schwedenkreuz.

kinda lost my head after that and took it steady, my second lap was better but still wasn’t great and we decided to call it a day as the track was closed due to yellow flags. Some of the pictures were great though.

After that we went home, got ready, dressed and headed to pistenklause for their steak on a hot stone

Thursday, one of the lads had an issue with his Silvia, his tyre had rubbed through the loom (common fault on these apparently)

After sorting this we went for a drive out to Brünnchen to watch the morning track day

nce again TF started and we jumped on track again but I had to nip to the arel garage to top the tank with 102!

Whilst I was filling up I bumped into this guy….

Got into the northloop and unfortunately there were some yellow flags again, still did a solid lap… 10min30sec with two major yellow flags.

Even though my laps weren’t clean, still had plenty of fun and the photos were even better than the days previous

after getting back to our AirBnB we had a BBQ.

after dinner I nipped out to take afew photos as this was our last night.

Had to take the famous ED-garage photo with the castle in the background, on my way back I met up with @bass_direct as he’d just arrived that day.

Had a good catch up and took him out for a spin in the megane up the L92 road between Adenau and nurburg (if you’ve been on that road, you know it’s one of the best roads)

Friday was our day to travel back, nothing exciting happened… the megane was basically faultless and could’ve have taken a better car. Will probably be going atleast once next year. Thanks for reading my boring thread.
