This was only ment to be a daliy - Megane 280 cup

2026 upgrades…

Bought some fresh front discs as they’re £350 from RPD aswell as brake pad pins and service kit. Got gearbox oil aswell but didn’t take a photo. Bought some CL rc5+ for when I goto the ring next week.

Purchased some braided brake lines and a braided clutch hose to remove the clutch dampener. This is the same one that the mk3 Meganes use as they’re a similar gearbox. Took it down to Danny Afro’s to get it all sorted

After that noticed the front tyres needed changing as some of the tread was very low at the inner edge

Seem to be a common issue with these as they have a lot of camber. Fitted some new PS4S ready for next week.

Set off on sunday to catch the ferry from hull to Rotterdam

£480 return for the megane and a tiny cabin for one (didn’t include food) bit of a rip off but it does save about 5hours of driver either way on the trip.

Stopped at the silver arrow, £380 for 4nights B&B for one in a single room. It’s about 2mins up the road from devils diner…. It’s not amazing but wasn’t s**t either

Swapped the pads and pins, lowered the tyres pressures to 1.9 cold and removed the bonnet seal as it was proper hot.

Do you have a print out of the readings?

I can't believe that's just how they are.

Do you have the correct width tyres on? No stretch?
I don’t but I wouldn’t worry about it mate, they were worn very even across the tyre. Don’t don’t have the print out but I know it’s correct. The tyres are the same size as what they come from the factory

After a week at nurburg we packed up and drove to spa to watch the GT racing there for the weekend. Checked the tyres whilst changing my pads and after afew sessions of TF and GP track, they Looked great… 2.5bar hot seemed to be the sweet spot for these.

Belgium Airbnb with aircon was a life saver, was 38*C over the weekend

Never been to spa but spent two whole days there, the track and all viewing points are amazing

Does seem odd wear but I guess if it's tracked up right then maybe it is how they are, I'd be inclined to check all ball joints etc though

Looks mega on track, The MK4s sit so well

Seen similar wear on a mate's Megane 225 a few years ago.

He was running 225 instead of 235 on the stock wheels and it did the same. That little bit of stretch was all that caused it.
