Throttle Bodies or Future Super Charger?

Right im fairly well in with GDi and get or got most of the info on cars from them but i dont want to keep asking them questions as i feel ill get done for stalking soon and have an injunction against me. (joking)

So ive got like £600 aside at the moment and was looking on buying or well putting some money to one side for some thing to the car, i orignally thourght throttle bodies an the new ones from GDi.
But do i just get them or do i wait for the super charger kit?
I just cant make my mind up at this moment in time an been twidling my thumbs for some many weeks.
Yes i could get the £3.5k for the tb's plus abit more for brakes an stuff but i want some thing good, just not sure what.
So how about an opion from you lot? (sensible ones???) :S

it depends on what there "supercharger" kit invloves?

what power do you want?
more power than what im getting, ie stock.
Some thing thats got a burble, like i was previously concernd about the mpg now i really dont give a monkies, ill get a moped or a 2nd small engined car for a run to an from work thing.

well you could go two ways with the charger, low blow and hope for the best (not much torque mind) or uprate the lot and go for some REAL power

if you would be happy with under 250 hp i.e 227 ;) then keep it NA.

anything more than that you have to uprate almost everything else, i.e gearbox, shafts, mounts, clutch, crank, flywheel, bin the plenham and manifold and make a new one, huge injectors, swirl pot fuel pump, oil coolers, pistons, rods, bolts, shells, bearings, gaskets, huge charger, huge intercooler.

and unless its done right. it WILL blow up. the standard shells and bearings are cack.

which would easy take you over the 10k mark

that sounds like wayyy to much hassel for me i thinks, 10k i would sell the clio or go the route of a mini yfs (R1) conversation.
So looking at tbs i would need billet cams omex new air box, is there owt else that i could do or buy to go with it all?

injectors, loom, throttle cable, 1.2 etc TP, if it was me i would stick a group N clutch on and a LSD both could be had for £2000 fitted.

then if you wanted, you could up the compression with soem group N pistons, then stick some new forged rods on, at that point you will have to replace the shells, and re-build the block etc so the cost jumps up, then maybe some headwork (im not sure who does andys heads, but i had the highest spec from ben at 1k. although just basic s**t can be had for £300)

I think I would rather spend the money on a mint chassis setup before I went near the engine, proflex dampers, ap brakes etc.

no the 2k was just for the LSD and clutch.

i would just speak to Andy at GDI mate, he can then give you the real money figures, then you can go from there chosing what you want.

I have always gone N/A with my cars, as i personally feel that if an engine dont leave the factory with a s/c or t/b then dont bother with it.

But having said that, conversions these days are done so well, half the time they do look factory!!

Plus in real world driving, track driving etc, a 230 bhp n/a clio will be just as quick as a 300bhp s/c item.

which i will show you at FCS ben.... hehe :D
 
WRC Tech at silverstone were looking for peeps to do a supercharger conversion on, oh they just gone bust too. Thank god I didnt go for it.

S**t...I didn't know they had gone bust, felt sure they'd be okay fleecing all the rich evo/Subaru boys
 
It was the turbo conversions they did on Monaros with warranty they offered.

Rubbish. Was up at Monkfish tuning looking at ones they had to sort to get working properly. They are building a 1000bhp monaro.....lol looks awesome and you wont need to remove the engine to change the turbos on their conversion.
