Throttle Bodies - The Clock Is Ticking



Well guys, a little update, not much went on with it over the weekend, but myself and weight (dude!) went up to see it yesterday and weight put together an airbox design, and its now in getting fabricated, so hopefully well get that fitted properly by the end of the week and pictures will be done :)

Still waiting for a linkage kit for the accelerator cable -> throttle bodies, ...... hmmm what else? erm oh, weve dropped down a size on the trumpets too, cos Im not going to run an open filter in the engine bay, and with an airbox we cant fit 90s, so weve gone down to 60s, but theyre only available in carbon fibre (Oh what a shame LoL) anyways, pictures and updates later this week - cant wait :D
 


cant wait to see what power it makes and how it affects the drive :D depending on how it turns out i may have to start pimping myself out to rich housewives to finance fitting them to mine :D
 


The power roamer will get will be around 200 Bhp, if you take a stock 172 or cup andput the TB´s on it, together with a different cam and chip it will be 220 Bhp.



@raomer if you take a shoreter inlet you can even fit the standard radiator.



A friend of mine has a company in France and builds em like you have.
 


Hmmm shorter inlet? hmmmm its pretty short anyways..... well.... well all see what this does to it once its done, then onto the next mod eh? so - anyone got any suggestions whilst Im on a roll? (fyi cams are on the way, so dont suggest that :-)

And Tom - what r u on mate? LoL
 


Roamer..... you said you need to get your car to Uxbridge....PE by any chance??? When you get the printout get them to do the 3 lines on the graph.......Standard/Superchip/TBs. should make interesting viewing.

Can you get the engine re-bored? 2.2 litre "172"?! You seem to either have pots of cash or an understanding bank manager, so why not!

Take it without that new radiator it wouldnt work. Is it still as effiecent as the larger item. Still looks a squeeze. How long till she is brought to life then!
 


Roamer, whenever I try to look at your link for the pictures, I just get a load of text about the camera you used but no pics. I cant see any links through to the pictures either????

Mate, some of the info is out there but Im going to be doing this as a kit once done, were going through the teething troubles so that anyone else doesnt have to, Ill keep ya posted on here, and youll all see the results as soon as.

Well guys..... we have movement!

The car is currently sitting on the back of a trailer and by tomorrow morning (tuesday) itll be down to start the next stage of work :-)

Ill have some more info when I get back home tomorrow, but needless to say Ill have some piccies :-)
