Throttle Bodies - The Clock Is Ticking

It is an original Renaut lump, blockwise visually the same as the Clio 16V/Williams/19 16V engine.
I heard that is is an ex Laguna touring car engine or off a similar production class car.
I do know however that is is running throttle bodies, steel crank, cosworth pistons, custom cams and various other gubbins, different valves and stuff.
It is destined for rallying so the cams were reground to give a more suitable profile. The engine builder seems to think it should rev fine to about 11-12k but as that wont be very conductive for longevity it has been mapped to give max power at about 8000rpm. Its got bags of torque aswell; I cant remember what the figures were but ill find out later and post it.
May be fetching it tomorrow so ill take some pictures.
throttle bodies are almost always housed in an airbox in order to supply colder air, exactly the same principle as your single throttle body engine, only you need to consider improving airflow volume etc. The exception is when the car design (e.g. caterhams) allows you to feed the throttle body trumpets outside the engine bay in which case a foam filter, or individual foam socks can be used. Youll find that Roamers tin probably has a fat (10cm?) pipe feeding it cold air from the front of the car or equivalent.
OK, well guys....... yesterday I finally saw my car leave Jenvey and go down to Power Engineering, so now its onto the ECU wiring, setup etc etc etc, but not an easy job as theyve got a few hurdles to overcome first, but were getting there.....
And just to find out, we cranked the car...... and it bloody ran on the standard ecu, it ran crap, overfueling like anything, but it sort of ran! the shame is that my video camera ran out before we tried this, so Ive got no footage of it...... soz guys, but its getting there, so Ill keep ya all informed as and when I get the info
