Throttle bodies

Just had some bad news that i have the wrong model engine for my 172 conversion,but it could still work if i get throttle bodies for it!

So does anyone have info on which are the best to go for,where to get them from and how much the prices vary from?

Its a mrk1 172 engine but my clio is a mrk2 phs2 clio and the 2 dont go well together!

oh right, you learn something new every day. Well throttle bodies will set you back £3k-£5k+ depending on your setup. You could always sell me the engine for tuppence halfpenny and buy a new one

Thats what my other option is,but the engine is already fitted into the clio,so it will be ripped out and i'll be stuck with a 172 engine that is no use to me and a big hole in my pocket!

Gad i think you can convert yours to cable throttle but if you do you would need a standalone ecu, a throttle pedal from an earlier clio and possibly a mk1 172 throttle body but i could be wrong

George said that it was fooked and my options were to either rip it out or stick throttle bodies on it,this was also after speaking to J3ned

Think its all down to bits i never got and the entire loom for the whole car being needed!

So im searching for a mrk2 engine and throttle bodies!

you can get that running, you just need the mk2 plenham and TB plus all the ECU stuff + engine loom speak to j3ned

Roamers TB's are for sale at cliospares BTW

how much is he after for them yoz do u know? if its a decent price i'll buy them and gad can buy mine off the car and it'll work out better all round

EDIT : just phoned cliospares and they are after £1250 for the lot tb's ecu, loom etc so someone is gonna get a bargain

i was about to say, MAKE sure you get the lower crank pulley off Roamers engine, otherwise it WON'T run!

also make sure they give you the injectors also

and you will need new trumpets, as the carbon fibre ones are snapped.

Already pratted and these are just to get the engine running,but the added power is a bonus!!

Depending on your choice of carbon or aluminium only about £20 each for the ali ones IIRC.

They certainly are SOLD!!

Thats no to bad for the new trumpets!

Only thing now is to get away with spending the money i was saving up for a deposit on a flat,no told the gf and im due to see a financial adviser today at 2pm!!!
