youll get more bhp from a gasflowes head and matched & modified inlet manifold than a larger TB.

The std TB isnt a restriction anyway.

Final_Maxim, what 1.4i you have? is this the RT (energy 1.4 8v with SPI)?

If so, Im now studying my own.
Like BenR said, head work needs to be done. Talk to him about it since he is "on fire" with it. :)

Inlet manifold seems to me that could use also some work in the TB mounting area.
The SPI bolts much too near to the inlet manifolds floor, so I would say that a 10mm ou 15mm spacer should be ok.

Finally I got my hand on a 1.8 8v SPI renault TB. This one was a nightmare to find out... I traveled 300km into another country to buy it.
Here it is:

Dont know if the std injector is up to the job but Ill have a live map to suit the injection.

Me getting that std 27c256 prom out of the ecu... damn thing was really glued to it.

Hope to have everything done to the car over the next 3 months or so. Im not in a hurry... the RT is for fun when it comes to engine tuning done by me. :)

easy people. i got 1.4i 8v. its the maxim. But ive read ina brouchure that the maxim has a close ratio gearbox and the rt doesnt? correct me if im wrong. mine is the energy head though.

i lookin for ways to get absolute max power out of a lil 1.4 engine without doin 2.0 conversions or turbos. ill be throwin a 50bhp nos on it ina couple of months, but wanna get more out of the engine as it is. Bens been tellin me about work he does on heads (insert joke here lol). looks as though ill be sending my stuff his way in the near future :). im pretty lucky really as the engines only done 38,000 miles on a 1997 R plate. Plus i found eyeliner n all girl things under the backseat so i know the engine hasnt been caned 2 f*ck. ( no offense to any women drivers who use this forum :p )

I keep hearing lots of things about the Maxim, Maxim S, Sport, like the close ratio gear box..

..also heard its MPi

Think this was brought up before, conclusion was HillPower can do a 1.8 Megane throttle body conversion, with Ben doing head work and flowing. Looking at a nice 100BHP

Final_Maxim, take a post a picture of your engine. This way we know if your engine is MPI or SPI.

Youd have to speak to im personally about such a job! but theres are two stage kits available for the 1.4 8v there, the Stage 1 gains 12-15BHP the stage two should reach 95-97BHP.
Bluepete, you got me confused. Hillpower has got two stages for the RT. Stage 1 gains 12-15bhp, so it will have somewhere like 92-95bhp at the end.
Stage 2 reaches 95-98bhp?! if so, its similar gains to stage 1...
Something is wrong on your post.

You can do a search on RT tuning since alot of cliosport.net members once had a highly tuned RT. I read some 120bhp RTs and I think there was someone with a 140bhp RT....

what can i do with my 1.2 16v? i have the viper kit, exhaust on way, i just want to keep up with my mates mgzr105, im going up to k-tec soon, can they do some engine work for me thats not to expensive? perhaps a polished head?

If your interested in a gasflowed head please contact me via PM.

The 1.2 16V will respond nicely to some headwork.
