Clio Privilege 2001 1.4
hello all,
fairly new to this site! been having loads of fun looking at your mods, upgrades and reading your posts, learnt so much already!
i have a problem with my clio.. taken it to the garage and they said the likely cause is the throttle body. symtoms are inconsistent rev speeds at idle, sometimes the idle going down to zero (and the engine dying). some days i'll fire her up, she'll sit at 500-1000 revs for a moment then go down to zero. have to give her loads of gas when pulling away sometimes.
anyway, my clio is a mk2 2001 1.4 16v privilege model.
i've been trying to source a throttle body from somewhere other than renault (who want an arm and a leg), but speaking to one indpendant garage the other day they told me the part is coded and will needed to be fitted by a renault garage.. can anyone verify this? i had a look around on the net and someone suggested that this is only the case in newer clios.. anyone know if this would be the case for mine?
also if anyone knows a good source for one i'd love to hear it.. did find a guy on eBay who said he had one for my car but he seems to have vanished!
if anyone has any tips, advice or suggestions i'd love to hear them. im a bit of novice when it comes to cars!
