Throttle body question ?

  clio 172
Do replacement throttle body need programming ?

My car is now running but its idling at 4000 rpm so my mate is going to try fit my original throttle body which was on car originally .

Anythink else to check ? I know I haven't blanked the vacuum line which is located at front of the inlet .

Im in work at the moment but my mate just said throttle body fault , pedal signal is ok

I see what should I do with it ? I have an induction kit but im going to put the standard airbox back on.

Also the carbon canister has been chucked , do I need another one of the fitted as I assume this could affect it also ?

Ay advice would be good

cheers

Need to block off both the line that went to the acoustic valve and the one that went to the carbon canister.

What would you use a bolt or soemthink ?

Would that cause it to idle at 4000 rpm or would this be likely to be idle control valve ?

No faults on dash or scanner apparently so I am assuming a vacumm issue

sorry for my lack of knowledge

just stick a bit of pipe on it and plug up the end with a screw or something, just ensure the head of the screw is large enough to not get sucked up the pipe, lol!

and yes air leaks into the inlet will cause it to easily idle that high

if its a phase 2 172 with the wire throttle (not cable/mechanical one) it doesn't have a idle valve, the throttle body is the idle valve
