Throttle Click

Car  RS Clio 182
This is probably an absolutely ridiculous question that has been anwsered a million times but..

I have just recently got a Clio 182, and there is a bit at the end of the throttle that u need click through. I not 100% sure what this is for. Is it simply just going deeper into the throttle or does it have a special purpose?

It doesnt make sense to me that it simply goes deeper because it is literally 1 cm of give... I dont notice anything in particular when i click it, maybe it revs a little bit harder.. or im unobservant...

Thanks for the welcome :)

So if i'm not intending to go over the speed limiter, say in the first 3 gears, then is there any point in using that last bit?

From what I understand fully throttle is already reached before you have mashed it well into the carpet, but physically you will always still find yourself pushing the throttle as hard as you can!

As far as I'm aware you're already giving it 100% throttle prior to clicking that, so no. But if you're accelerating that hard for some reason with the speed limiter turned on, I'd click past it so it doesn't suddenly catch you out! But then again I'd already have turned it off.

I personally don't really use the speed limiter apart from maybe where there are SPECS cameras ;)

i had mine linked up to Renault's 'Clip' diagnostic system which gives you the info...

100% throttle position is reached BEFORE the 'click'

as said above, the 'click' is an overide for the speed limiter
