tick tick tick, 16v

whats that noise that comes on and off on my clio?

some times doesnt do it others it does?

iv just had all the gaskets replaced and cambelt changed and now it starts fine but then tries to stall after a min or 2 if not being driven?

any ideas welcome thanks

mine does it at the min, idle speed control valve is fuked. always seems to do it when thats playing up. getting a new un sat like!

where do i get a new one, mine drops revs a bit tries to stall and then sorts its self out

will that sort the ticking?

yeah i dont know why it clicks mate, but mine definately does when its having it moments! i think it might be the iscv getting stuck or something!

but tis definately that thats causing my problems. cuts out when i come to junctions etc. sometimes doesnt and sorts itself out. could also be the speedo cable as it has the road speed sensor on it!

iv just ordered one from http://www.andyspares.comwww.andyspares.com but im goin to fetch it from sheff. comes to about £90 in total

Have I just found out whats wrong with mine?

Mine has been idling really low on tickover recently, and I noticed it was ticking the other day too!

Is yours fine when the car is warm? mine only does it when its cold!

Let me know if it fixes it yeah, will have to get myself a new one too.

well i wasnt sure and didnt want to spend £90 on a part if it wasnt gonna fix it! so i got a tempermental one from leigh! it worked fine for about 2 weeks but now its doing the same again! mostly when cold it stalls, but once warmed up still idles too low, about 600rpm or less!

so looks like this was causing it.

i had that on mine , when i checked out the new leads i bought turns out one of them didnt have a clip in it so was only running on 3 cylinders
