Tie Rod Change - Seized TRE/Angle Grinder

  172 Turbo
So, I'm in the middle of changing the inner Tie/Track Rods as the TREs are seized.

I thought I'd easily remove the rod, but can't get the drivers one out. So I've bought a track rod removal tool, however, to get it on I have to get off the seized TRE!

So I've bought an angle grinder. This might not end well. Do I just go straight through the Track Rod?

Thanks

Yep, get spinny and go for it.

Wear goggles/glasses too. Gloves if you're a girl.

That was satisfying, wish I hasn't wasted so much time now with the fan spanner.

Job done and I've still got my fingers!

Huge pipe wrench worked on mine. Thought if it might all be shot I'd give it one last shot and it moved. Garage had given up on it. New wrench with nice sharp teeth not too much damage either which was nice.
