Time Lapse Tool

I have a few avi files and would like to turn them into time lapse videos, so rather than 20 mins of pretty boring footage i want to be able to shorten them down to about 2-3 mins.

I've had a look around for video editing packages but can't seem to find the right tools. Does anyone know of a tool that will convert .avi to a time lapse video? Or can windows movie maker do it?

Never mind found it in wmm, it's just in effects

You mean u want to Take a 20 minute video and make it 2 minutes long?

You can do this in most editing software.

Sony Vegas which i use, you import the clip. Hold control then drag the clip to the required length. and re render.

Or am i being simple and you want something more?

Nope, thats it exactly, found the setting in windows movie maker. Cheers mate.
