Timing belt and service

Just booked my first major service at my local renault dealer. Its costing 230 quid!

They also told me that my timing belt is due for a change in November as my car is 5years old and they quoted me 300 quid just for the timeing belt!!

Are these typical prices?????

Its the 36,000 mile service

timing belt is 5yrs or 72,000miles

TBH honest mate, you might as well get the timing belt done at the same time as the service.

Saves 2 visits to the garage.

always do the timing belt before 5 yrs and 72k.... its simply IMO too long an interval...

there have been a few cases even on here where they have failed early...

get it done ASAP
