Timing Belt

Anyone know where is best to take my car for 72k service and timing belt change in west yorks? preferably huddersfield. Oh yeah and preferably somewhere where I wont need a mortgage. And dont say renault dealers, I dont fancy paying £110 hour labour lol

its not a million miles away but wrong side of pennines for me mate but cheers anyway, I have a few places friends have recommended I will have to see what they charge

make sure they have the correct Camshaft and Crankshaft locking tools to do your engine

you should get the water pump done too

Yes I have been recommended that but I just thought that was renault dealers trying to rob me even more, so with timing belt, water pump and 72k service what do you think I looking at in total?

ok mate cheers, I best my arse moving its just clocked round 72k now. And I have been down the road of a snapped cambelt before I dont fancy trying it again he he he he.

hi guys sorry to hijack the thread a bit but my 172 has done 56k miles im getting the cambelt done tomorrow and a service, im hoping it will only take a day, should i also get the waterpump done?if so how much is the waterpump from anywhere but renault?

also what replacement parts should i expect in the service?

Yes. Timing as in the timing of the opening/closing of the valves by the cams, in relation to the movement of the pistons.

cheers for that, i seem to have an echo.

It turns out my car has had cambelt done then. I have an invoice from previous owner saying the timing belt, water pump etc was done, but i didn't think the cambelt had been done.

I took the cover off and the belt looks quiet shiney and the writing has been worn off. is this normal after 10k. this is why i suspected it hadn't been done.
