Timings out

Car  04 ph2 172
Hi guys. I recently purchased a 182 with documented cambelt and dephaser change from a renault main dealer in 2015. The car has done 7k since then and i have noticed the car sounds very tappy. I done an oil change to see if that would cure the tapping and its done buggar all. I decided to check the timing and its miles out. With the cams locked at the gearbox end the flywheel mark is past the 8 degree mark. Is this something to be concerned about? If i set the flywheel to line up with 0 and lock it the cams are way out ( like two teeth ). Both cams are inline with each other but there not inline with the crank. Any help would be appreciated.

Luke

So i took the crank pully off to find this. Should there be a woodruff key here?

Yes mate the crank is locked at 0 but the cams are not, the belts still on atm, does it look right or is it out? Still trying to diagnose my tapping. The cams dont line up with the tool when the cranks locked through the hole in the block

if the crank is locked then it's ok but it's cam timing that's out. you 100% that crank is at 0 and locked in the right hole?

I would double check you're in the right hole there and not the balancing hole. The groove in the crankshaft should be at the midpoint between those two ribs above it in the right of the pictures.

Just noticed this, now that the crank pulley is off it it's likely the cams have moved.
