Tinker on the cup

Show me another on 18k Miles? These are getting harder to find in such good condition, let alone the mileage. I can ask what I like. I sold my last two cups on 77k for 5k. People said they wouldn’t sell, they did.

And believe it or not, this car owes me quite a lump taking into account storage costs, insurance, tax, servicing. So no I’m not trying to make a quick buck, I love these cars but having already got 5 cars in storage costing £80 a month each, let alone the insurance on them, I have to sell the cup as it’s the sensible thing to do.

I don’t understand why people feel the need to comment, it’s not a thread about it being for sale, I was just genuinely happy with the steering wheel refurbish & how good she looks.

You can't post photos up and not expect comments on the fact it's been up for 10k. People don't just forget.

The first link you posted could be a £8k car if they added up the costs of servicing, storage, insurance, belts being done and hours of cleaning.

The second could be a £10k as its a dealer who has more or less bought it for about £2500 and hiked the price up.

My original point is that no matter if you spend £12 at a motor factors or £130 at a dealership you dont see that money back, If you need to maintain a car then you need to maintain it regardless and I fail to see how that makes the car more expensive or adds more valve on it.

Does this mean that cause I service my car every 6 months and do all my belts every 3 years I can just lump that onto my for sale price ?

These cups are just going like the Trophy's did and from what I see now no one is really managing to sell Trophy's for the £15/19k they where at.

Excluding buying my Trophy I have roughly spent £14k + in the last 8 years buying parts and maintaining it and replacing things with 95% of genuine renault parts with a renault specialist, Does this mean I could ask for all that back if I was to sell mine.

Like I say if it sells then fair play but the bubble will burst with cars like this along with the Trophy's and for it to sell it needs a very very good written advert with good details pictures and aimed at the correct market and buyer.

What would you sell your RS turbo for then ??

What would you sell your RS turbo for then ??

I would look at as many cars as possible around the same age, spec and milage and base it on that, Not just ask a figure cause I spent time and money on it.

10k for a car you wouldn't want to put miles on to preserve it's 18k miles ! It's simply not an investment at that price

So 15k then! ? ??

That's what good escort turbos are selling for now ! Even thou you may not have spent that on it,that's what you would sell it for.
My mate has a 1989 RS he bought it in 91 for 7.5 grand not spent loads on it really still got it now but if he sells it it will be worth 15k plus I reckon easy it's near concourse. So that's what he will sell it for.

I agree with what you say with the 10k for the cup they are just not selling for that much yet but I do reckon long term they may well do.
Can't blame Dawn for the price I would be trying it for big price to start with someone may well come up with the cash but defo not on here !??

I Remember when xr2s 1.9 205s and r5 turbos were worth peanuts the idea they may be ever be worth 10k was impossible to believe.

I sold my mk1 xr2 for 1750 it was mint but insurance was 4k they wanted so I sold it if I had it now same condition an lowish miles would be10k car.

Projects are 5 grand !??

I sold my mint white s2 escort rs turbo for £2500 to an old guy in Edinburgh in 2001 who bought it for his son who was only 15 at the time and tucked it away in his garage. my brother in law was at the old boys house doing a job for him and he still has it and the son drives it in the summer. its only on 68k and is worth a damn site more than £2500 now. wish id tucked that one away, along with my Williams I sold.

Every car I’ve sold for the last 5 years is worth more now with the odd exception.

Unfortunately, I need to drive my cars and can’t afford to keep them in the garage and not use them. I also get bored after a week so it’s not a good recipe for car investment!

@davo172 my point from the first comment is Just cause its stored , insured, taxed, MOT,d had V-Power fuel and had a service / timing belt done along with other general maintenance and hours of polish does that mean it should be for sale for alot more ? ?
I also said that I think its down to the fact that the advert is not the best with shocking pictures, It was dumped on ebay and its been for sale a couple of times.
That boils down to to it drawing attention especially with a high sale price IMO

The well known cup gets a bad rep because of the above or maybe more the seller, Yes its a stunning wee car and its clean so why not invest a fair amount of time on a good advert with a lot of good pictures and sell it in the right places to the right people and take it away from the £2000 /25000 cups that people will always look to buy and not laugh at with there price tags ?

My RST is valued alot more than the figures you have stated through the RSOC which is not a sale price but a guide price if anything was to happen to it so I would be better writing it off and getting the agree'd value and buying another one.
Yes I could put mine up for £10/15/20k but as you are well aware the RS scene is a totally different ball game and the renault scene will never match it.

always see cups getting broken for bits on facebook pages. which is a good thing I suppose for the rarity of cups, and loads are now stripped out track cars. still cant quite believe I managed to get mine for a grand especially as it has been looked after in the past and had receipts for loads of stuff done over the years. did need belts/brakes/mot though.

It’s the same reg, so it’s the same car and same sale of description!

Unless it is counter fit, dawns seen the light realised to much and dropped the price!

Does it not ring alarm bells that it's on a totally different account and the items for sale on that account don't add up?

Yeah it is odd, but maybe she feels embarrassed about the original price so using another account for what ever reason!

I didn’t rule out that’s it not a scam though!

Think this is the same car and same ad would not be another cup on 18k surely even if reg was transferred it’s just readvertised

I was interested to see about the cup so asked if it is still for sale!

Strangely there was no sent message in my out box! But had a reply any way, here it is!
