Tire gel for exterior plastics?

I remember a question asked on here a while ago, and the advice was to use Meguiears on the exterior plastics
was it this?: Gold Class Endurance High Gloss Tire Protection Gel

I think it's Megs Endurance Tyre gel. It works but it's no way near as good as a proper product such as C4 GTechniq Trim mainly due to how long it will hold up!

I find tyre gels suitable for plastics s**t tbh just doesn't last 5 mins

It will last a while if you clean the area and prep properly, but the issue is more about attracting dust, as the gel sits on the surface of plastic, whereas it soaks into rubber.

ah ok, so a no go then.......is there something to be used about once a month?

Something like Chemical guys new look trim gel or Auto finesse revive will see you right.

If you can be arsed, invest in some isopropyl alcohol too.

Wipe the plastics with the alcohol to remove any oil or residue before applying the trim dressing.


This way, even after the new glossy black sheen has worn off, you'll have nice black, natural looking plastics
