TOAD AI606

Im lookin to get a Toad alarm, most likely off ebay (as it seems to be the cheapest!).

Any alarm specialists in the Birmingham area whod be able to help me fit?

Also, does anyone know if theres a way id still be able to use my original renault central locking key???

Cobra do a 2:1 upgrade that lets you use the original key, Im getting one fitted tomorrow.

If you are gonna fit the alarm yourself you wont get a Thatcham Certificate.

How much does the cobra cost, not that bothered about the thatcham certificate to be honest. Just want a top alarm on the cheap! Will require help fitting though as I have no previous knowledge, so if theres anyone in the Birmingham area please help!

No, cant use original key on Mk1s.. as far as I know.

I wouldnt get one off of Ebay really.. a lot of companies might refuse to fit anything they havnt supplied!

I was hoping there was a security expert on here that could help me fit it, as ur right I doubt id be able to buy the alarm and then get someone from a company to fit it.

Just tried emailing Motorguard but my email bounced back!

AI606 is a quality bit of kit! Ive never had any trouble with mine and it works a gem, you cant go wrong with TOAD. I had a clifford on my previous motor and it was a pain in the fecking ass.

Clifford arent poo - as long as the install is done properly.. pretty rare tho.

Never has any probs with my Clifford concept 300. Had a Sigma before, and that was terrible; it would go off all the time, and then wouldnt unlock my car.

The only probs Im having with the Cobra are that it hasnt been fitted properly. The job was very poor and the car was two hours late. Its back in today for the faults rectifying and I guess Ill be keeping tomorrow night free to refit the trims, radio etc. properly (again).

Thats the problem people have with Cliffords.. bad installs.

A properly installed Clifford is mint..

You could say Cobras are crap now.. but it wouldnt be right as its only the install! Hehe.
