I decided that the rear suspension arm things were looking a little worse for wear so decided to tidy them up a bit in preperation for FCS!

Before:

Sanded all the rust off with sand paper and a wall paper stripper :o and just cleaned it with apc and dried - then whipped the hammerite out.

Should protect it from rusting for a couple more years now!

Nice mate, see your gonna take good care of her. glad you sorted/are on the way to sorting something out with the insurance. brent-acre sounded really friendly and told me to wait for my 2 years experience and he should be able to give me a good quote on a lupo gti. thinking of using them to insure me on my 1.2 with coilovers now.

:rasp:

The paint has gone dull and matt now anyway. It looks a bit shite in the pics i posted above :(

Looks better, Should have given the arches a quick clean and hammerited the edges and middle edge of the rear discs though.

Cheers.

Car is having a three day detail as i am on the Meguires Top 25 stand at the French Car Show. Didn't want to f**k about rushing the arches when iv got a good 3 days to do it. Did the arms today as i wanted the paint to dry for when i get the heavy de greasing s**t out.

As for painting the disks - :S f**k that no way.

Coilovers are on the long list of things to do. Im buying middo's cage also. Been thinking about coilovers and i dont think my drive will allow me to have them as its pretty steep. Il see.

Guysy - I know what you mean but didn't have time to chizel all the rust off the end of the lip. I reckon it would take ages for the breaks to rub any spillages off aswell

dont bother painting the disks, a little tip which i did which lasted a good 6months: when the wheels off take a grinding disk to the edge of the brake disk, it takes the rusty build up off without doing any damage :D

2mins on each disc job done :D
