TomTom Bluetooth GPS

Hi,

Does this work okay in the 172? When I tried my handheld GPS inside the car I found it pretty tricky to pick up any satellites - only seemed to work around the non-metallized window at the front edge of the windscreen.

Where do you put your GPS receiver for decent results?

Cheers,

Gareth

Put it in the tray at the top middle of the dash above the display mine works find there. For better results try the rear side windows, does mean youll have to run power to them tho.

I fix my tom tom go to the sunroof with the mouting bracket suction thingy it has. That works perfect until i get my external antenna in a week or so.

In that case its an external antenna jobbie like mike said. Can pick em up for under 50 quid i think.

Got my Tomtom GO for £413... Comet (online) (£499 instore)

Anybody else been waiting for the UK delivery of the tomtom external aerials?

Suppliers should have them on or around the 27th October apparently.

Dont know if the 2 secs sat update can handle over £140 mph!.....Seriously though you can add a free gps tuning app to set the update to <2 sec update. I set mine up so it runs with 1sec updates and dont have any problems,
