i just been out a brought the tomtom 300 from halfords which comes with the free download for safety camera from the tomtom website. just wondered if any body knows if it makes a sound when approaching a speed camera to alert you and if it picks up mobile cameras as wel as fixed ones??

i would go out and test it but cant as i have broken my leg and cant drive for 7 weeks

It does make a sound yes, but if i were you id take it back and get a tomtom one . . thats what ill be getting later on today . . .signal is far far better with clios

You can configure the TomTom GO to give an alert sound (there are many sounds to choose from) for each POI (Point of Interest - radar in your case) you define. Each POI must have its long/lat defined, i.e. be in a fixed location.

It will not "pick up" mobile radars unless you tell the TomTom where they are!! It is a not a radar detector. At best you could define a POI in a zone where there is "usually" a mobile camera.
