Spending over £10k on a £6k car!?!

Would rather sell the car and have a £16k budget for something else tbh!

But, yeah, a good list as far as "decent mods" goes...

i wouldnt do 10 mods if i was to buy another 172 but this is how my list would go

1. 182 manifold
2. k-tec decat/link pipe
3. remap
4. eibach sportlines
5. Toyo R888's

no need for uprated brakes on the road when running standard/ish power, genuine brakes and regular fluid is fine, standard suspension again is fine but i feel sportlines give better stability when doing over tripple figures. 182 manifold and decat give much more mid range pull and a remap to compliment them, and standard exhaust system isnt really that restrictive not worth driving about getting a sore head with the noise anyway! however my stealth wasnt that loud and did give me a slight gain but not a gain to make it worth while unless your going the full way with engine mods

So you'd say having the 182 manifold is worth it then? I keep hum'n' and R'n' about getting it done on mine. Think I'd only ever get it done though is if I can get hold of a 182 manifold really cheap.

yep only engine mod id do if i was going for it again, possibly matched inlets again as i got a good gain from them but once you start you cant stop so on a budget if i was to get another as a bit of cheap fun the 182 manifold is the only mod id do. i gained 18bhp and 15lb/ft of torque from ITG filter, Samco Bend, Matched Inlets, 182 manifold, ktec decat, ktec stealth and i gained over 20lb/ft midrange!

That's quite funny. R888's are needed, which don't really work well on the road, but uprated brakes are a waste? Forgetting the improved pedal feel?
The 182 manifold is a waste IMO. Of the 5, the fastest 1*2 I've owned was my bog standard ph2 172. Just one of those odd rapid one's.

have you ever used R888's on the road? what car? ive found them better than any tyre ive tried on the road (ive never used them on track however) but in 195/15" i found the grip phenominal.

as for brakes yes agreed improved pedal feel is nice but again as is the extra power of matched inlets, cat back exhaust, different filters, the extra grip of coilovers is nice but again as a fast road car in my opinion unless your looking to spend money for the sake of it i dont think its worth it since its such a good car out the box.

182 manifold i wouldnt do if i couldnt fit it myself, but since i can, its deffo worth while, my 188bhp proved it :)
