Top mount problem? - Going to be changing suspension.

I currently have a knocking sound coming from the front drivers front of my car (04 1.2) i believe it to be the rubber on the underside of the top mount? Basically its fine when going on a long bit of smooth road but come to speed bumps or a bumpy road and it nocks when going over them. After having a look it seems that its the top mount that needs replacing?

I am going to be changing the suspension soon from standard to coilies so want the problem sorting at the same time as changing them over.

Any ideas if what im saying sounds right?

that doesn't sound like top mounts at all. Bottom balljoint is much more likely

Do you think it could still be the case even though we've had the car jacked up with full lock on either side and no play at all or sound when trying to move the wheel at all?

I believe that the top mounts have to come off when changing the suspension anyway so for the little cost they are would it be worth changing them anyway? I have been looking on eurocar parts and ebay and seem to find different types such as ones with the bearing and without.
