Top mount question

i've fitted new coilovers and the top mounts (oem) stick up approximately just under a centimetre from the base they should be flush with. is this ok?
there is also sometimes a creaking noise when turning the wheel present.
would soild top mounts solve this?
the rest of the suspension is also completely new (oem parts) + powerflex wishbones (welded), arb and dogbone. the wheel aligment is also done.
do these parts maybe need to settle in or...?

creaking and big gap are you sure you have the bearing the right way up ?

gap between the top mount top cap and the suspension turret is normal mate, mine has approx 10mm. the creaking was solved on mine by fitting the spacer kit on the top mounts, if you search on here some peps sell them and the dimensions are on here so you could get some made by an engineering company. but as above re-check everything first!!!!!!!!
