torque figures/readings

sometimes u see torque in nm and some times in lbs

but how many nm's is 1lb of torque?

why are they measured differently too?

  MR2 2.0 N/A & Mk1 1.2Clio
torque is a force at a radius from center so needs a distance, torque isnt measured in pounds.

1 pound per foot = 1.356 newton-meters (Nm)
1 pound per inch = 0.113 newton-meters (Nm)

  MR2 2.0 N/A & Mk1 1.2Clio
wasnt sure so put both down, as for why both used, just imperial metric thing.

Usually on older cars , or american cars its in lb/ft, my mates got an old old bike and everything is in lb/ft in teh Haynes for that, but on ym 10 year old clio the Haynes specifies both, i just use Nm cus i like to be modern, and its the nearest column to the text:clown:
