Torque settings F4R bottom end

  Renault Sport Clio 1
Hello

I have a Renault Clio Sport 172 2.0 16v (engine code F4R).

I'm about to rebuild the engine after having the crankshaft re-ground, but can't find any tightening torques values. I would like to know the torque setting for the crankshaft bearing cap bolt and Big end nut.

Please could someone point me in the direction of a reliable source? As the Haynes Manual does not cover this engine.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards, John

Thank for the link. I’ve look through it before and it doesn’t cover the bottom end but there is some good info on timing.

I tried phoning my local Renault dealer today to see if they could print the info for torque setting for me, but they won’t supply that info to the public (but are happy to sell me the parts).

Think my plan is I’m going to buy a Haynes workshop manual for a Renault Laguna Petrol & Diesel (Feb 01 - Feb 05) X to 54 as this covers the 2.0l engine, which I believe the Clio 172 is based on. I know the engines are different but from what I can tell Renault Sport have just re-work the head so the bottom end should be the same as my Clio 172. Does this sound like a good bet?
