torque steer

hi people

i'm the proud owner of a 172 cup for about three months now and i've noticed that through 1st and 2nd gears there is a mountain of torque steer.

i was just wondering if anyone else has this problem and if is there anyway of overcoming it...

No real way of overcoming it tbh, the drive shafts are different lengths (as they are on a lot of cars) so giving it razz from rest you'll get different torque going to each wheel. Just 'man it out!'

im used to it and dont notice it, only time i notice a difference is when driving a dynamique it feels like a driving game on the PS2 with a steeringwheel, no feedback or anthing lol
 
How to overcome it? - Firm grip on the steering wheel perhaps ;) I quite enjoy it personally.

One thing I noticed was that new front tyres reduced torque steer significantly on my Cup. I think this is because worn tyres actually have more contact with the road and therefore more grip (in dry conditions!). Obviously it isn't economical to keep fresh tyres on the front all the time, but it may be worth looking at if yours are getting worn.

You do get used to it, tbh some people see it as a good sign the engine is running ok and performing as it should.

Nobody has mentioned tyre pressure or tracking. Just a smaller amount of PSI loss on one side can affect traction on the front.

Get your tyres upto 33PSI on the front and get the tracking checked as this could be causing you a problem.
