Bubbles which bodyshop do you use?? the V6 needs the front bumer doing

If you want the best speak to Townsend. He has a body shop in Bristol who he trusts.

If you want to use a Renault bodyshop Bodymatters (Renault Wednesbury) are good.

Mine was like that ALL over the bonnet/wings/bumper, hence the respray.

I'd touch it up. Only worth respraying if you're loaded or want to sell it.

Can this not be done through insurance? Take it to a renault dealer for advice, and they'll surely tell you that your corrosion warranty is invalid if they dont properly repair it.

Well...

The body shop said they dont have any of my paint left, so theyd have to order in a ltr which is £100 just in itself.. so i wont be getting them to touch it up. However he gave me a strip of the film to put on the bonnet once its done.

I called Renault and they have ordered me a touch up pen, and tomorrow their touch up guy is on site so hes going to do it for me.. it wont look great i guess, but it will be a damn site better than it is.

And in 4 weeks time the carbon arrives.... still unsure, will see what its like when its on, if i hate it i'll just sell it

Not cheap per litre then. Bodyshop not prepared to go halfs or anything as it is chipping so easily?

Ive already done that one Rich... i had a small bump, and the bonnet was repaired/resprayed, a few months later it was chipping really badly so i took it back and they redid it.. i cant really take it back AGAIN. and the more layers of paint that go on.....

I will post some piccys after the touch up, i hope its ok im still so gutted, i hate it not looking perfect.. stoopid hu?

They said a touch up is gona be really hard to do as its 2 layers of paint, ones a base i think then the pearl ontop

They would have had to flat it down lots to redo it again. I know after market paint seems to chip easily, but that was a major chip so wondered if they thought it was unusual, and would maybe would offer to sort it. Did you notice anything hit the car to cause it? Had on that size on my 205 GTi but saw the stone do it.

In thin layers it shold be okay, hard to gauge without seeing how deep it looks in the flesh. Hopefully the Renault guy will do go for you. I know what you mean though, a few of us on here are all equally as bad as wanting everything looking prefect! Brand new wheel on mine last week as something flew up on the way back from FCS - 150 quid later lol.

I will be very interested to see what the Carbon bonnet fit is like as I have held back from buying one from K-Tec for the last month because of the stories ..

Will be getting a quote on monday for a new bonnet + spraying, and i will then weigh that up against the carbon..

You should not need a new bonnet really, just get the bodyshop to flat your one all the way back and prime and paint, unless of course you have the cunning plan of a brand new bonnet, get it painted, leaving it for 2 months to cure really nicely and then fitting it to your car PS that's what I would do.
