Tough choice!

Rich, you should have talked to me and id have taken you out in my UK car (its a PPP and pushing a little more than a std my98).

I do know where there is a minter of an Impreza though (not an RB5 though but THE ultimate impreza) an STi 6 type RA limited for around 16k with 9k on the clock, 17 inch prodrive alloys and a grp n exhaust, its also close by and very easy to get to from where you are ;)

Just post up on here and ill answer 2moro.

whys that?
Sit down and work out the "real" costs to keep one on the road...

Fuel, tyres, servicing, etc... it all ads up!

Not that Im discounting one though, but some serious consideration needs to be done before I take the plunge!

Lets be realistic. Much as I like my clio if you have a choice between a cup and a scooby then you pretty much go for the scooby dont you? As I say I do love my 172 but if you can afford a scooby your getting yourelf into a whole different league, Turbo 4WD, Massive tuneability hmmmmm. its certainly the option Id go for (although Id be looking at Evos Elise/VX220 or a really mint fiat coupe for my next car)

Rich can I ask you why you want a 172/Cup when going by your 1/4 mile times your Ralley is just as quick and will handle very well as well. You just bored with it and want something different?

I went from a 306 Rallye to a Cup and can honestly say I made the right move. There might not be much in it at silly, licence losing speeds, but trust me, around town / traffic light grand prixs etc the Cup is a beast. I know Rich has driven one before and knows what the crack is with Cups. I can see where hes coming from, I always wanted a scooby, was very close to buying an STi 4 last year. Having been a regular browser of Scoobynet I am now not quite as keen on one..unless its an STi 278 bhp model of course. Standard scoobs are not that much faster than the modern breed of hot hatches and and with the turbo ( apparently ) are a bit of a dull drive. There are more than a couple of guys on scooby net who dig Cups and the running costs of one are quite frankly not worth it when all you are gonna do is pull a cars length on a Cup to 100. The trouble with scoobies is there are loads of cheap Max powered K-P reg models around which completely bastardise the rest of them.

So to sum up, if you are going form a Cup / Rallye to a Scooby STi / Evo do it!! To a standard UK spec Car I wouldnt bother. I would still have a Cup over a Rallye mind ;);)

Rallye-King -

You know the score...

Thats why I am having a re-think on the whole "next car" thing and as much as I have always wanted an Impreza and would still like to, I am now wondering if its really the best choice!

Will be doing a lot of thinking & a lot of test driving now, plus there is someone coming to buy (hopefully) the Rallye tomorrow night, so I kinda need to sort it out!
