Toyo Proxes T1-R

  Fiesta TDCI

Just had 4 of the new Toyos fitted, initial impression is very good, much quieter than the Good Year GSD2 and seem to grip well, taking it easy at the moment though until they are bedded in. They are a harder compound than the T1-s so should last longer, that said I have never run the T1-s.

They are well priced as well which makes them a very good buy in my opinion, nice tread pattern to!

wait for it to rain ;)

then what??? ive got these tyres and in the 6 months ive had the car nowt has happened in the rain to me???? so please let me in on the secret!!! what happens when they touch water then??? do they multiply like gizmo does when he gets wet????

yeah they are utter sh*te in the rain (but better than the standard michelins i had). But when its dry... fookin hell they grip!!! so much so that Reno blamed them for ripping my engine mounts apart! :p

treads look very similar but the new ones have the extra band around the outside... this will probably help shed the water much better.

they are fine, as good as goodyear f1s. had a full set fitted last week. i have had no problems with them in dry or rain. dont know how pricy they are mine were free.

Ive got falkens on at the mo, they are ok in the dry...but a drop of water touches the ground and they are absolute sh*te, ive had a few scary moments heading for kerbs sideways at low speeds! cant wait for them to wear out so i can get some toyos on!

For what size?

The problem i have is that i dont wanna buy new tyres cus ill be getting alloys soon, or gettign mine fixed, well wihtin about 6 months, but the tyres i ahve are sh*t and only have a few mm of tread left

The toyo 888 thingys are a bit mental too eh..............bet they will be shady in the wet............ ;) HArdcore!!! seen some Yoko Paradas on a Focus RS today.......smart as fook

To hear anyone describe these as bad wet weather tyres surprises me. I had these on an Impreza Turbo (4wd but still prone to understeer) and they totally changed my perspective on what a tyre could do. They seemed to grip better in the wet than the dry - they never let go once and I had total confidence in them. Some people do complain that the sidewalls are a little softer than GY Eagle Fi GSD2/3 in higher proofiles but I never found this. In fact if I could fit one tyre to my current car it would be the Toyo.

Perhaps you are expecting too much of a front drive car in the wet?
