Track car conversion?

  Renault Clio 53'
Hello, I've got a 53 plate renualt clio 1.3 3door and I've been thinking about completely gutting it and changing it into a track car, isit worth it? What different engines can I put in there? Or can I modify the current one?

Yes- got my 172, 8 month ago, £550. Spent about the same on it so far, achieved 165BHP on the Dyno. Sailed thought the MOT last month.
Its a great little drive, and handled well round Lydden. Brands next Tuesday.

Get yourself one- recommended

Don't waste your money just buy a cheap 172 or 182

how much modification have you done? I plan on gutting the whole interior, changing suspension and brakes on it

Not really modification, but I had to get one of the front drive shafts done, already had coilovers, got AD08R's all round, (Large part of the cost) stripped out interior and purchased rear half roll cage (Getting quote for spreader mounting plates today) and just general maintenance stuff like new battery, had the accelerator cable/ICV/ New throttle body issue for a while, new induction Ramair, 5.1 brake fluid(brakes seemed in good nick so havent touched them yet other than spare set of pads) rear strut brace, lamps, oil/filter change, and lots of other bits n pieces

Last couple months all rear seats and passenger seat out (Looking at decent bucket seats) and rear half cage in very soon

Want to just play around on the track for the first part of the summer, (Brands tomorrow for 4 sehs's) then maybe look at the go faster bits. Pulled 165bhp which i was well pleased with for a 16 yr old motor.

Paintwork is a bit pants in places, so covered it up with a big set of decals.:smilingimp:
