Track Rod and Ball Joint Removal Tools

Need to remove my track rods this weekend whilst the rack is on the car. Are there any good tools for the job?

Also doing the lower ball joint so what tool do I need for that?

you need a balljoint splitter to make life easier, you use it on both lower baill joint and track rod end apart from that spanners and a rachet set will see you good.

It not the track rod end i'm worried about its the end that connects to the rack!

It just spins off mate!

Yeah doesn't the inner rod just unscrew from the rack?

Yea fairly sure it does. If you can try split the gaiter and see, I'd imagine you need to raplace that too!

Yeah it does i'm just wondering:

a) how tight its going to be
b) whats the best tool to get in there!

The gaitor will be removed very carefully for reuse!!
